The former British foreign minister, David Miliband, has joined a private equity firm in Pakistan as a senior adviser. In a statement Mr Miliband said Indus Basin Holdings was committed to developing an agricultural sector which Mr Miliband says has a huge potential. He said he was delighted to advise the company. Mr Miliband said he cared deeply about Pakistan and the development of its economy. Indus Basin Holdings says it has attracted investment into projects ranging from food processing to contract farming. Agriculture represents a quarter of Pakistan’s GDP and employs forty-five percent of its workforce.
